I had a dream about you this morning...
I woke up this morning having just dreamt about you.
That might sound a little strange, but hear me out. It TOTALLY means something and I know I have a responsibility to share it with you. If it resonates with you, you’ll know what I mean…
In my dream, there was a woman and it was like she was in some way, distressed. She was sitting almost uncomfortably, squirming in her chair with dissatisfaction and discomfort. There were people around her. To be honest it looked as though they were towering over her in some ways. But they didn’t SEE her. They didn’t appear to notice her apparent disdain or discomfort.
So this woman – why the squirming, the discomfort? Why did no one appear to notice her clear distress?
It became pretty obvious to me – The woman in my dream was bursting with something to say. She was desperate for this message, these words which had come to her, to pour out of her in a room full of people who were attentively listening. Which made the current situation even less ideal.
Something to say and almost an inability to say it.
The thing is, no one was directly oppressing her. No one was holding their hands over her mouth and causing her not to speak. She was squirming and mumbling whilst sitting down amidst everyone who was towering around her talking amongst themselves and not knowing she was there.
In my dream, I remember thinking ‘why doesn’t she just stand up?’ ‘Why doesn’t she just speak?’
And then in what seemed like an instant, I recognised that she simply didn’t know how. Or at least she thought she didn’t.
She didn’t realise that all it would take to be truly NOTICED, even in a room full of strangers, would be to stand up and start speaking.
She didn’t realise that what was on the inside of her which was now actually UNCOMFORTABLE to suppress was exactly what the people around her needed to hear.
She didn’t realise that people didn’t see her as insignificant or a hindrance. In fact, they were waiting for her.
Here’s where I’m sure I was dreaming regarding some of you.
I think some of you are this woman.
I believe some of you feel that you can’t or you shouldn’t share your TRUE message, The one you REALLY want to speak.
I believe some of you feel like CHARGING for your TRUE message is impossible because you feel there’s no one who would pay for it.
I believe some of you don’t feel like you have the COURAGE to stand up in that room full of strangers who are already talking and just start speaking.
But you do. It’s within you along with your message.
There’s more than this though. People are WAITING for what you have to say. People are longing for someone like you to stand up – to truly stand up. But right now they just don’t know that it’s YOU who have been called to say what they need to hear.
It’s time to stand up.
It’s time to recognise that the ONLY thing holding you back is your own fears, your own hesitations, your own uncertainty about whether or not you SHOULD be standing,
The discomfort and dissatisfaction you feel as you choose NOT to stand up is God’s gentle reminder that this is what HE HAS GIVEN YOU TO SHARE.
It’s time to share your truth, your REAL message, even when you’re shaking.
I’m here to help. Me ‘standing up’ is reminding myself that I’ve been called to enable you to do the same… in the way YOU have been called to do it.
