Nothing? Or the makings of a miracle?
I know that many of you are celebrating Thanksgiving today – I hope you have an amazing and restful time celebrating with family and friends.
Due to the festivities, today’s post is short, but I wanted to share it with you after live streaming my Word Wednesday teaching yesterday.
I hope you’ll find the time to dive in after eating #allthefood because here’s the thing…
We’re always worrying about what we DON’T have when it comes to business whilst completely overlooking what IS available to us. But here’s hoping that with all the thankfulness in the air right now, you’re counting your blessings and realising that you have SO MUCH. Not least what’s on the inside of you!
Yesterday I looked at the book of 2 Kings Chapter 4… The woman in the story was close to despair. She was in debt and didn’t know what the fate for her and her family would be as she had no resources to pay her way out… or at least she thought she didn’t.
Because actually, what she thought was ‘nothing’ was the ingredients for a miracle…
You’ll have to read the story (2 Kings 4:1-7) to get the full picture, or watch yesterday’s video, but all I’m saying is that one simple jar of oil became a profitable business!
Here are the 5 tips I give in the study:
- Be ready to RESPOND as well as to receive.
- Don’t write off or discredit what you have as ‘nothing’. (It may well be the making of a miracle!)
- Don’t be too proud to ask for help.
- Be obedient and do the work.
- Let GOD provide the increase.
Speaking of thankfulness though, seeing as we’re in that season - I was really touched by one of the messages I received after sharing, especially due to the way it came about. I love Instagram and am on it all the time (follow me if you’re not already!) but I never really do live videos from it, I don’t know why, I just tend to go live on Facebook instead. Anyway… yesterday I felt like jumping on live from IG and FB at the same time. Afterwards, I received the message below in my inbox and it made me smile.
You see, I almost decided not to go live yesterday – I’m working a LOT at the moment as I prepare for something BIG which is winging it’s way to you next week and so a lot of my time and energy is going there. But tired or not, I pressed play and I’m so thankful I did.
So as I sign off today and leave you with yesterday’s video, I want to remind you to do the things which feel uncomfortable. Be brave and be bold.
And remember… the world is waiting for your work!
