God already knows.
He already knows the sin you’ve committed. The deep, dark “I can’t tell anyone THAT” sin. He already knows.
Most of us know that part of this verse, even if we don’t want to admit it, we know it. But sadly, some of us don’t accept all of the promises of the verse I’ve displayed in this image. The Word tells us that ALL of the promises of God are yes and amen in Christ Jesus.
All of them.
But some of them are easier to take a hold of, right? Promises that tell us God is loving and good might be digested a little easier by us than the fact that God is greater than our heart.
It can be hard to hear that because the reality of our sin can eat away at us and cause us to believe and live in what we FEEL about what’s happened above the fact that God’s grace is bigger than it.
Did you get that? God’s grace is BIGGER. Bigger than your guilt, regret and shame. And He knows all about it.
Have you told God you’re sorry? Have you cried at the foot of His Cross in sadness over the sin you once walked in whether it be 10 years or 10 minutes ago? I’d imagine you’ve done this more than once- because of that nagging guilt and shame that causes you to think it’s not over. If you have genuinely stood in repentance for your sin, then you are genuinely forgiven. That is it.
Forgiven by the creator of the universe, your perfect, eternal Heavenly Father. Your heart might continue to tell you otherwise, the enemy might continue to whisper unworthiness and other people might even struggle to forgive you. But none of that stops Almighty God from saying “It is finished.” He declared that on the Cross when He died for the very thing you can’t shake. Live in the freedom He died to give you. He is all the permission you need.
