Want MORE than temporary fads?

Have you ever found yourself feeling as though you’re struggling to keep up ?

Found yourself wondering what’s meant to be YOUR thing amidst all. the. things?
You’re not alone of course. It can often feel as though we’re playing some sort of game of ‘keeping up’, right?

Well, imagine if that just wasn’t a thing for you anymore? Imagine you, simply being able to live and walk out what you’ve been called to without feeling the need to look to the right or to the left, or to compare yourself with anyone else.

Yesterday I went to get my nails done with my sister, which meant I also got to see my gorgeous nephew (who you’ll see below!) As I was browsing through the choices of colour & trying to work out what would be best, I landed on French tips with an ‘ombre’ twist (have you TRIED ombre nails?! SO good!)

Anyway, as I giving them my colour, I asked whether many other ladies had chosen ombre nails recently and they went on to tell me that LOADS had and that it was ‘on trend’.

I had no idea. I just liked what I saw and went for it, having no idea whether or not anyone in the world had ever tried it before. Imagine if we could live our lives like that in all decisions?

Ones a little bigger than getting our nails done anyway…

So often we can worry about offending one person, saying the wrong thing to the next etc. When, actually, one thing TRULY matters and that is us doing what God has called us to do without worrying about how others will respond to it, right?

Now this isn’t easy of course. However, the good news is that we don’t have to try and muster up the ability to do this in and of our own strength.

In Psalm 119 (the longest chapter in the Bible!) the psalmist talks of his love for God and Word. But that’s not the end of the story for him. The passage shows a continual rhetoric of loving God’s Word and how thankful he is for it, partnered with a desire to know more and to go deeper.

"Teach me good judgement and knowledge, for I believe in your commandments." (Psalm 119:66)

His belief doesn’t lead to complacency or a sense of ‘knowing it all’. Instead, it stokes the fire of a desire for more.

It’s when we feel we’ve got ‘enough’ of God, that we miss the point. Because the truth of the matter is, putting our hope, faith and trust in God in all things at all times is putting our hope, faith and trust in He who is UNWAVERING.

Not just when it’s popular or the latest thing, not just when everyone else is doing it, and DEFINITELY not just on Sunday (or your mid-week small group!)

And so, what does this mean for you ? How are you GROWING in your relationship with God?

Not JUST believing and putting an ‘amen’ on your desires, but actually going DEEPER and knowing Him more?

I’m SOOOO excited to share that my first study for my members over in Living Word League just arrived on the private member's site. We’re spending all month diving into the Word of God. Not just in order to study it – but to LIVE it.
