The letters which are normally kept on the ledge on the side for us and our neighbours was strewn across the floor of the porch and it was then that I noticed the wood on the floor and slowly lifted my gaze to the broken lock.
So I blogged... every day, thousands of words, whatever God put on my heart. No ‘call to action’, nothing really but what God was asking me to share... with 30 or so people.
The funny thing is, I got quite a few comments like this off of the back of that series - and I KNEW it was just the beginning.
Which is why it FRUSTRATES me so much when someone turns up online, writes two blogs posts, hosts a webinar & wonders where their clients willing to pay them $10k are... It’s not how it WORKS, people...
If I rewound time and found myself back in 2011 writing my first ever blog post, I know that the me I was then would NEVER have imagined my current reality. I would never have imagined that what started with my love for writing and a call to share it was actually the foundations for what would become a thriving business.
I’m walking into all of it for 2018. I’m walking into pouring over God’s word and teaching truths from it which will support people to live their best lives – the ones He’s created them for because life is short and the call is urgent. And I’m walking into supporting women who know there’s something on the inside of them which they’re yet to bring to life and they know they need to but just aren’t 100% sure how. Whether that’s how to start a business or how to scale one. I know I’m called to both. I’m here for all of it. (Read more over on the blog: http://naomiaidoo.com/blog/balance)
You’ve probably heard of the terms fixed and growth mindsets with the latter being all about being willing to take on new opportunities even if they involve risk, about willing to be stretched and to grow, to learn from the times you don’t ‘win’.
So I have a question – If you’ve operated with a fixed mindset throughout 2017 thinking ‘I could never do that’, ‘I’m not qualified enough for that’ or ‘I won’t make that, even if I try’, what are you ACTIVELY doing to change that way of thinking NOW and not in a few days time when the new year begins?
I’m learning more about the rhythms of life and business, the being okay to totally switch off in order to spend time with people properly (not slyly checking my phone every few minutes) and LOVING that. In fact, it only helps my business because it means I work from overflow and not forced ‘have to’ stuff. I’m teaching more of these principles with my clients and program members too.
